A resolution accepting a donation of exercise equipment to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by Vanderbilt University for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.

WHEREAS, Vanderbilt University wishes to donate certain exercise equipment valued at $1,575 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the use and benefit of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department; and,

WHEREAS, a copy of the agreement regarding the donation is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and,

WHEREAS, pursuant to Ordinance No. BL2006-1015, donations of items valued less than $5,000 may be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this donation be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the donation of exercise equipment by Vanderbilt University to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, pursuant to the donation agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.

Section 2. That the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department is authorized to accept the exercise equipment for its use and benefit.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its final passage, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
