RESOLUTION NO. RS2007-1717
A resolution approving an application for a grant from the United States Department of Justice to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, to increase access to mental health services for offenders with mental illness.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice is accepting applications for a grant through its Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program, with an award of $157,700 and a required match of $39,425; and,
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the application for a grant from the United States Department of Justice, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the United States Department of Justice.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
