A resolution approving an Amendment to a contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., for the purchase of services to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted disease.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Board of Health previously entered into a contract with STD Free, Inc., for the purchase of services to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted disease; and,

WHEREAS, the contract between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., was approved by Resolution No. 2004-488; and,

WHEREAS, certain terms and conditions were inadvertently omitted from the contract, including the conflict of interest, lobbying, public accountability and public notice provisions required by the State of Tennessee Department of Health; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the contract to include the necessary provisions, a copy of which Amendment No. 1 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, amending the contract is in the best interest of the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment No. 1 to the contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., for the purchase of services to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted disease, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
