A resolution recognizing and congratulating Mrs. Kim Fowler as being chosen the 2007 "Tennessee Principal of the Year" from Mt. View Elementary School.

WHEREAS, Mrs. Kim Fowler, principal at Mt. View Elementary School, has distinguished herself as a professional of the greatest dedication, ability, and integrity in providing the highest quality education for Tennessee's students and is well deserving of this recognition; and

WHEREAS, veteran educator Mrs. Kim Fowler has recently been named the Grand Division Winner for Middle Tennessee in the 2007 Principal of the Year Award by the Tennessee Department of Education, an honor most befitting her outstanding tenure as it recognizes the positive influence she has on so many young lives; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Kim Fowler a graduate of Bob Jones University and Trevecca Nazarene University, has been with Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools since 1988, is now principal of Mt. View Elementary School, having previously served as principal at Kirkpatrick and Chadwell elementary schools; and

WHEREAS, Mrs. Kim Fowler truly epitomizes the ideal of the dedicated Principal who is wholly committed to the highest ideals of public service, quality education and opportunities for students in providing students with a challenging curriculum, superior instruction and meaningful assessments and she demonstrates superior qualities of leadership as she continues to improve school programs; and

WHEREAS, Kim Fowler truly serves as an inspiration to her colleagues, faculty, staff and students alike, and her friendship and counsel are highly valued by those who are fortunate to know her; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Mrs. Kim Fowler on being chosen as "Tennessee Principal of the Year" serving currently as principal from Mt. View Elementary School, commend her exceptional service to Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, her staff and students, and salute her professional expertise and wish her all the best.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating Mrs. Kim Fowler as being chosen the 2007 "Tennessee Principal of the Year" from Mt. View Elementary School.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mrs. Kim Fowler.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
