RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1697

A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to accept $8,575.24 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's vehicular damage claim against V. Johnson, LLC.

Whereas, on June 20, 2006, Metro employee, Joseph Haywood was involved in a vehicular accident; and,

Whereas, the other motorist due to driving in a reckless manner struck Officer Haywood and Metro's vehicle from behind resulting in vehicular damage to the rear bumper, trunk, both quarter panels and frame; and,

Whereas, after investigation, the Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is herein fair and reasonable and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $8,575.24.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $8,575.24 in compromise and settlement of the vehicular claim against V. Johnson LLC, and said funds shall be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
