RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1694

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to sustain key homeland security programs.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security previously awarded a grant to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to sustain key homeland security programs, which grant was accepted by resolution RS2004-624; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the grant agreement to extend the grant until March 31, 2007, during which time the remaining grant funds may be utilized, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the grant Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant agreement by and between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to sustain key homeland security programs, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized the execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
