A resolution accepting a grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to resurface Granny White Pike and 12th Avenue South from Woodmont Boulevard to Division Street (State Aid Route 1937(1), Contract No. 45, Project No. 19-959-8495-04).

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee, Department of Transportation, has awarded a grant in an amount not to exceed $578,475 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to resurface Granny White Pike and 12th Avenue South from Woodmont Boulevard to Division Street; and,

WHEREAS, the grant requires matching funds in an amount no less than $192,825; and,

WHEREAS, under the grant contract, $156,459.85 of the $192,825 match would be provided with in kind services and the remaining $36,365.15 would be a cash match; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the grant by and between the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, in an amount not to exceed $578,475, with matching funds to be provided by The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County in an amount no less than $192,825, to resurface a portion of Granny White Pike and 12th Avenue South from Woodmont Boulevard to Division Street, State Aid Route 1937(1), Contract No. 45, Project No. 19-959-8495-04, a copy of which grant is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
