RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1665

A resolution appropriating funds received from the State of Tennessee to the Metropolitan Government for treatment for persons addicted to methamphetamine to the State Trial Courts.

WHEREAS, the State of Tennessee previously awarded a grant in the amount of $1,395,687 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide treatment to persons addicted to methamphetamine, which grant was approved by RS2005-930; and,

WHEREAS, RS2005-930 provided for the appropriation of the grant funds to the State Trial Courts; and,

WHEREAS, a portion of the grant funds, in the amount of $569,770, has not yet been appropriated to the State Trial Courts; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that these grant funds be appropriated to the FY07 budget of the State Trial Courts.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That $569,770 is appropriated to the FY07 budget of the State Trial Courts, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
