A resolution recognizing the 80th Annual Waffle Shop! Event held at the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church.

WHEREAS, the Waffle Shop at the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church has been serving their famous breakfast to the residents of Nashville for the past 80 years and has quickly become and continues to be a favorite spot for lunch that first Thursday in December each year; and

WHEREAS, the Waffle Shop at the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of 5th Avenue North and Church Street; and

WHEREAS, the Downtown Presbyterian Church has hosted this event annually on the first Thursday in December to commemorate the beginning of the Advent Season in downtown Nashville; and

WHEREAS, the food is out of this world, and it's almost sinful not to have waffles for lunch, especially served up at the Waffle Shop; and

WHEREAS, the Waffle Shop has been serving up the same recipes since the days when folks came downtown to do their holiday shopping in horse drawn carriages and had waffles for lunch at the church; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes this annual event and wish it continued success.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the 80th Annual Waffle Shop! Event held at the historic Downtown Presbyterian Church.

Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
