RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1572
A resolution authorizing the Executive Director of Metropolitan Social Services to declare a certain parcel of property, known as the Municipal Children's Home, to be surplus and to transfer said property to the custody of the Director of Public Property Administration of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County ( Proposal No. 2006M-086U-07).
Whereas,
The Metropolitan Government owns a certain parcel of property identified in
exhibit A which is attached hereto and incorporated herein; and
Whereas, The Executive Director of Metropolitan Social Services has determined
that a certain parcel of property known as the Municipal Children's Home is
no longer needed for Social Services purposes; and
Whereas,
The Metropolitan Charter 2.24.250(A) says;
Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions in this section, any Metropolitan Government
owned and operated home or facility for the care of children, whether it be
known as Richland Village, the McKay Home, or the Municipal Children's Home
as identified in Section 11.1102 of the Metropolitan Charter, shall not be transferred
to the custody of the director of public property administration as surplus
real property without the approval of the Metropolitan Council be resolution
adopted by twenty-one affirmative votes.
Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. The Metropolitan County Council declares the following parcel of property defined below and shown on attached Exhibit A, owned in fee by the Metropolitan Government to be surplus:

Section 2. The Director of Public Property is hereby authorized and directed to take custody of said property listed above:
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption by twenty-one affirmative votes, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
