RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1550

A resolution approving an application for a grant from the Tennessee Department of Transportation to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for improvements to the right-of-way along SR45 from the Cumberland River Bridge to Dupont School at Lakewood City Limits.

WHEREAS, the Tennessee Department of Transportation is accepting applications for a Tennessee Roadscapes grant with an award of $10,000 and a required match of $2000; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, the $2000 in matching funds could be provided by the Rayon City Neighborhood Association and Historic Old Hickory; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan Government's application for the grant for improvements to the ROW along SR45 from The Cumberland River Bridge to Dupont School at Lakewood City Limits, with an award of $10,000, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
