A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Department of Health to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, by and through the Board of Health, for food safety services.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, for food safety services, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2005-961; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the grant amount by $20,000, to a total of $102,400, to conduct telephone surveys to evaluate the restaurant inspection program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and The Metropolitan Department of Health, for food safety services, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Health Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
