RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1490

A resolution appropriating $274,000.00 in Community Development Block Grant funds for gateway signs, public street light improvements, vacant lot acquisition and site preparation, and new playground equipment for Fall-Hamilton Public School in the Martin Street Neighborhood Strategy Area.

WHEREAS, applications for the twenty-ninth, thirtieth and thirty-first years of the Community Development Block Grant program were approved by the Metropolitan Council through Ordinance Nos. BL 2002-1230, BL 2003-64 and BL 2004-425 which included funds allocated to the Martin Street Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, a portion of these funds in the amount of $274,000.00 has been recommended for public street light improvements, gateway signs, vacant lot acquisition and site preparation, and new playground equipment at Fall-Hamilton Public School in the Martin Street Neighborhood Strategy Area; and

WHEREAS, plans for the above referenced projects are available for review at the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY;

SECTION 1. That $274,000.00 in Community Development Block Grant funds allocated to the Martin Street Neighborhood Strategy Area be appropriated for gateway signs, public street light improvements, vacant lot acquisition and site preparation, and new playground equipment at Fall-Hamilton Public in the Martin Street Neighborhood Area.

SECTION 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its enactment, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
