A resolution recognizing the Bellevue Bulldogs 12 and Under Baseball All-Stars for winning the Cal Ripken Babe Ruth District Championship.

WHEREAS, the Bellevue Bulldogs 12 and Under Baseball All-Stars have persevered through inclement weather, unfamiliar playing conditions, and tough competition to claim the Cal Ripken District Championship in their age division; and

WHEREAS, crushing the Franklin Diamond Dogs (12-2), the Crieve Hall Red Sox (14-4), the Grassland Gators (15-1) the Brentwood Bolts (8-3) and the Nolensville Stars (8-5) the Bellevue Bulldogs outscored their opponents 66-20 to claim the Middle Tennessee District Tournament; and

WHEREAS, with stifling pitching, blanketing defense and a powering offense, the Bellevue Bulldogs All-Stars romped through the District Tournament beating the Brentwood Bolts for a second time (9-7) to win the championship and advanced to the 2006 Tennessee State Cal Ripken Babe Ruth Tournament; where they earned Fourth Place, and

WHEREAS, the precision, exceptional team play, dedication and sportsmanship of this championship team are Jackson Cothren, Brandon Foriest, Hayden Hendrick, Taylor Hendricks, Matt Kordowski, Ben Lovell, Russ McDaniel, Tanner Newton, Blade Pressley, Tyler Proctor, Ryan Tate, James Williams; and

WHERAS, the Bellevue Bulldogs All-Stars benefited greatly from the expertise, hard work, and dedication of coaches Jack Cothren, Robbie Hendrick, and Tom Lovell, who taught these young men many valuable lessons about baseball and life; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Bellevue Bulldogs on winning the 12 and Under Cal Ripken Babe Ruth District Championship and wish them continued success on the baseball diamond.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Bellevue Bulldogs 12 and Under Baseball All-Stars for winning the Cal Ripken Babe Ruth District Championship.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Coaches Jack Cothren, Robbie Hendrick, Tom Lovell and all the members of the 2006 Bellevue Bulldogs.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
