RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1456

A resolution approving a contract between Vanderbilt University and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for psychiatry health training for Vanderbilt medical residents at the Downtown Clinic for the Homeless.

WHEREAS, an agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Vanderbilt University, attached hereto, specifies the parties' benefits and obligations regarding the participation and clinical training of medical students and residents; and,

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County will reimburse Vanderbilt at a rate of $30 per hour, per resident, for four hours a week per resident, in an amount not to exceed $12,480; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enter into this agreement.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Vanderbilt University, in an amount not to exceed $12,480, for psychiatry participation and training of medical students and residents is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
