A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Department of Law to compromise and settle the claim of Barbara Dyson against the Metropolitan Government for the amount of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($120,000.00) and directing that this amount be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

WHEREAS, on December 4, 2003, Barbara Dyson sustained injuries from a single car accident while traveling as a passenger with her supervisor to a work-related seminar;

WHEREAS, Barbara Dyson filed suit against the Metropolitan Government in Davidson County Circuit Court; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Law believes that the settlement is fair and reasonable, and recommends that this lawsuit be compromised and settled, and that said amount be paid out of the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to compromise and settle the claim of Barbara Dyson in the amount of one hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($120,000.00) with said amount to be paid from the Self-Insured Liability Fund.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
