A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide services to senior citizens.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Greater Nashville Regional Council for nutrition services for senior citizens, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2005-1060; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the grant amount to $1,710,000 and add a transportation component, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the Greater Nashville Regional Council and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which increases the amount granted to $1,710,000 for services to senior citizens and adds a transportation component, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Metropolitan Social Services Commission based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
