A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to provide Families First services to recipients of public assistance.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2004-337; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to increase the grant amount by $449,921.25 and to extend the duration of the grant to June 30, 2007, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, which increases the amount granted to $1,503,078.75 to provide Families First services to recipients of public assistance, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Nashville Career Advancement Center based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
