A resolution recognizing Miss Lauren Danielle Swafford, 2006 Valedictorian of Antioch High School.

WHEREAS, it is fitting to pause and pay tribute to those students who through their natural talents and unflagging commitment to academic excellence have distinguished themselves in the classroom; and

WHEREAS, Miss Lauren Danielle Swafford is one such exceptional student, who was named Valedictorian of the 2006 graduating class at Antioch High School; and

WHEREAS, through diligent study, steady composure during examinations, and steadfast commitment of time and talent, Miss. Swafford has achieved outstanding academic success, and has joined the ranks of the best and brightest students in Tennessee and our country; and

WHEREAS, in her remarkable high school career, Miss. Swafford has earned an exemplary grade point average of 99.3%, and her display of intellectual aptitude and ambition surely bodes well for her future success; and

WHEREAS, during her remarkable high school career, Miss Swafford, a talented young woman of the highest caliber, participated in several extracurricular endeavors, including serving as a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary, the M.E.T. Singers, the Ensemble Chamber Choir, and the tennis team, which she served as Captain, as she demonstrated her athletic ability; and

WHEREAS, no stranger to honors and accolades, Miss. Swafford's scholarly achievements include the National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students, several times on the Principal's List and served as a delegate to Girls' State in 2005; and

WHEREAS, as a young woman of unsurpassed character and commitment Lauren's involvement in her community activities greatly contribute to the betterment of her community and reflect the true spirit of volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, Lauren Swafford's noteworthy achievement is a tremendous source of pride for her parents, R.C. Amidon and Kathy Amidon, her sister, Ashley Swafford, her school and her community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes 2006 Antioch High School Valedictorian, Miss Lauren Danielle Swafford, on her impressive academic achievement, and extend to her our best wishes for a happy, successful future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Miss Lauren Danielle Swafford, 2006 Valedictorian of Antioch High School.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Miss. Lauren Danielle Swafford.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
