A resolution approving an amendment to a lease agreement by and between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting through the Metropolitan Police Department and Signature Center, G.P. for the lease of office space for the Pass Program (2006M-076U-10).

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, acting by and through the Director of Public Property on behalf of the Metropolitan Police Department, has negotiated an amendment to the Lease Agreement with Signature Center to lease office space located at 1900 Church Street, Suite 500, Nashville, Tennessee to house its Pass Program; and

Whereas, the original lease agreement was approved and accepted by the Metropolitan Council by ordinance (Bill No. BL2001-760), which ordinance provided that any amendment to the lease agreement shall be approved via a Resolution of the Metropolitan Council that receives at least twenty-one affirmative votes; and

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government and the Lessor desire to amend the agreement to approve the Metropolitan Government's use of space in the building for an additional five years, and to establish a base rent of $19.89 per square foot for five years; and

Whereas, it is to the benefit of the citizens of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that the Amendment attached hereto be approved.

Now, therefore, be it enacted by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee:

Section 1. The amendment to the Agreement between the Metropolitan Government and Signature Center, G.P., attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
