A resolution approving an application for a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enhance delivery of advanced life support.

WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is accepting applications for grants for purposes of enhancing delivery of advanced life support, with an award of $456,360 and a required match of $114,090; and,

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government is eligible to participate in this grant program; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant application be approved and submitted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the application for a grant to enhance delivery of advanced life support, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same, and said application is authorized to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
