A resolution approving an Amended Final Agreement with the United States Department of Justice.

Whereas, by Resolution No. RS2003-1481, the Metropolitan Council approved a Final Agreement with the United States Department of Justice regarding compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act; and

Whereas, that Agreement by its terms will expire in June, 2006; and

Whereas, the parties now wish to continue their compliance with the terms of the Final Agreement, as set forth in the Amended Final Agreement attached hereto and incorporated herein; and

Whereas, approval of the Amended Final Agreement is in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the Amended Final Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and United States Department of Justice, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
