A resolution recognizing Wallace L. and Janice Lampley on being named the 2005 Neighbors of the Year in the Charlotte Park area.

WHEREAS, it is fitting that we recognize those estimable public servants who through their extraordinary efforts, have distinguished themselves as true community leaders and who have dedicated themselves to improving the quality of life for their fellow citizens; and

WHEREAS, the Lampley's are such individuals who take pride in their neighborhood and community, their commitment and service to their neighbors goes above and beyond the call of duty, and they are an inspiration to all in their Charlotte Park Neighborhood; and

WHEREAS, since being active in the Charlotte Park Neighborhood Association since around 1993 Wallace L. Lampley and Janice Lampley decided to make a difference in their association by taking a more active role in 1998, Wallace Lampley serving as President and Janice serving as Treasurer; and

WHEREAS, their love of their community and exceptional compassion to the neighbors around them in West Nashville has longed fueled their vision of bringing new life to their neighborhood and they epitomize the ideal of the consummate public servant, reliable friend; and neighbor; and

WHEREAS, Janice was instrumental recently in assisting Metro Police catch one of the "ten most wanted persons" in West Nashville, which is a testament of her time-honored values of hard work, common sense and ability to stay alert to the on goings of the Charlotte Park and West Nashville area to help keep it safe; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Wallace L. and Janice Lampley for their leadership and community advocacy in their West Nashville community and convey to them our appreciation for the hard work they are doing in their neighborhood.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Wallace L. and Janice Lampley on being named the 2005 Neighbors of the Year in the Charlotte Park area.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Wallace L. and Janice Lampley.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
