RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1287
A resolution recognizing Wackenhut Security Officers Judith Spada, Wayne Whittington and Sergeant John Kent and Metropolitan Police Officer Doug Anderson for meritorious service.
WHEREAS, the citizens of Tennessee are fortunate to be able to rely upon the day-to-day professional competence of the many security and law enforcement officers who have performed above and beyond the call of duty in service of public safety; and
WHEREAS, members of security and law enforcement officers stand as beacons of hope and compassion to aiding those in emergency situations; and
WHEREAS, on Thursday, January 5, 2006, during a special called Metropolitan Council meeting, while on duty Wackenhut employees Judith Spada, Wayne Whittington and John Kent along with Doug Anderson "sergeant at arms" from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department rendered assistance to Alicia Lhullier; and
WHEREAS, the timely response, prompt intervention and quick-thinking of those involved and their unselfish concern for personal safety assisted a fellow human being; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Officer Judith Spada, Officer Wayne Whittington, Sergeant John Kent and Metropolitan Police Officer Doug Anderson who have performed their duties with the utmost skill, dedication, and professionalism, and deserve proper recognition and our thanks for a job well done.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing Wackenhut Security Officers Judith Spada, Wayne Whittington and Sergeant John Kent and Metropolitan Police Officer Doug Anderson for meritorious service.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Wackenhut Officer Judith Spada, Officer Wayne Whittington, Sergeant John Kent and Metropolitan Police Officer Doug Anderson of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
