RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1277

A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $7,576.59 in compromise and settlement of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's property damage claim against Sigma Construction, and to deposit said funds into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Whereas, on July 21, 2005, an employee of Sigma Construction failed to yield the right-of-way and made a left turn in front of a Metro police unit causing property damage to the Metro police vehicle; and

Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the property damage claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $7,576.59 and that these funds be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $7,576.59 in compromise and settlement of the property damage claim against Sigma Construction and to deposit said funds into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
