RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1264
A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $5,724.11 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's property damage claim against Tammy Longstreet.
Whereas, on June 22, 2005, on I-65 North near the Wedgewood Exit, Ms. Tammy Longstreet drove her vehicle into another vehicle, causing that second vehicle to strike a Metropolitan Police Department vehicle, which had slowed to avoid a tire in the roadway; and
Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable, and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $5,724.11.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $5,724.11 in compromise and settlement of the property damage claim against Tammy Longstreet, which funds shall be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
