A resolution recognizing the Cane Ridge Community Club for their work throughout their community and the City of Nashville.

WHEREAS, the Cane Ridge Community Club meets the first Monday of each month and has participated in Council activities since the Council was organized in 1954; and

WHEREAS, the Cane Ridge Community Club of Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County located in Council District 32 is a vibrant, healthy neighborhood club that is a necessary component to maintaining their community status as a desirable place to live, work and worship; and

WHEREAS, members of the Cane Ridge Community Club give not only their time, energy, talents and service to many volunteer organizations throughout their community and the City of Nashville, they also provide direct support to one of the strongest 4-H clubs in the county and give monetary support to a whole host of charitable projects, such as supporting the Rescue Mission, American Diabetes Association, Maxwell Elementary School, and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society; and

WHEREAS, teamwork is an important part of the Cane Ridge Community Club with the countless projects such as regular monthly covered dish dinners, multiple community meetings to address issues such as rezoning and developments in the area, Town Hall meetings with our Councilman, annual recognition dinner for our Metro Police and Fire Fighters, wedding receptions and countless other functions as well as structured committees that make sure that no community needs goes unnoticed; and

WHEREAS, the Cane Ridge Community Club strives to include people of all walks of life, cultural heritage, socio-economic condition and political viewpoints; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Cane Ridge Community Club whose dedication and hard work have done so much for the well-being of their community.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as the Cane Ridge Community Club for their work throughout their community and the City of Nashville.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Steve Abernathy, President of the Cane Ridge Community Club on behalf of the entire club.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
