RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1186

A resolution approving a second amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for the purchase of domestic preparedness public safety equipment (No. Z-03-017740-02).

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency for the purchase of domestic preparedness public safety equipment which agreement was approved by Resolution No. 2003-115, and amended pursuant to RS2005-670; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to again amend that Grant Agreement to extend the term of the grant until July 31, 2006, a copy of which Amendment No. 2 is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved, and the grant extended.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment No. 2 to the grant by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for the purchase of domestic preparedness public safety equipment, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
