A resolution recognizing The Metropolitan Government and the Davidson County District Energy System on receiving the 2005 Engineering Excellence Grand Award and the 2005 Distinguished Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Award.

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County has received the 2005 Engineering Excellence Grand Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee in recognition of the outstanding design of the Metropolitan Nashville District Energy System by Smith Seckman Reid, Inc.; and

WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Government has also received the 2005 Distinguished Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Award from The National Council For Public-Private Partnerships in recognition of outstanding use of public-private partnerships for the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County District Energy System; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognize the progress and accomplishments of the Metropolitan Government and the Davidson County Energy System in receiving these awards.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

SECTION 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing The Metropolitan Government and the Davidson County District Energy System on receiving the 2005 Engineering Excellence Grand Award and the 2005 Distinguished Public-Private Partnership Infrastructure Award.

SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
