RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1145
A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enhance the capabilities of first responders for homeland security.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to enhance the capabilities of first responders for homeland security, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2004-215; and,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to extend the grant until February 28, 2006, during which time the remaining grant funds may be utilized, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to enhance the capabilities of first responders for homeland security, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Mayor's Office of Emergency Management based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
