A resolution approving a contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Pitney Bowes for the lease of a mail metering system and equipment.

Whereas, Metropolitan Code of Laws Section 5.04.020 provides that all leases of equipment shall be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council if the annual expenditure for said lease exceeds five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and

Whereas, the annual expenditure to lease a mail metering system and equipment pursuant to the attached contract with Pitney Bowes will exceed five thousand dollars ($5,000) per year; and

Whereas, the attached contract with Pitney Bowes was procured by Invitation to Bid Number 51722-DH; and

Whereas, it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Metropolitan Government to approve the contract.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the contract between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and Pitney Bowes for the lease of a mail metering system and equipment, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
