RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1138

A resolution recognizing the week of February 12, 2006, as "Country Radio Week" in Nashville, Tennessee.

WHEREAS, over the past 37 years, the Country Radio Seminar has earned a reputation as a unique radio educational forum; and

WHEREAS, the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. Seminar will be held the week of February 12, 2006, otherwise known as "Country Radio Week" in Nashville, Tennessee; and

WHEREAS, Country radio promotes Nashville tourism daily by broadcasting information about our city and attractions; and

WHEREAS, Country radio is the primary medium for the exposure of Country music, an endeavor which employs many Nashvillians as artists, writers and producers; and

WHEREAS, the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. Seminar will bring together Country radio professionals from all across America together with attendees from the country music industry; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. and proudly recognizes the week of February 12, 2006, as "Country Radio Week".

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the week of February 12, 2006, as "Country Radio Week" in Nashville, Tennessee.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Mr. Ed Salamon, Executive Director of the Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc. and R.J. Curtis, President, Country Radio Broadcasters, Inc.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
