RESOLUTION NO. RS2006-1123
A resolution recognizing the late V. Michael Fox, Defense Attorney, of Nashville, Tennessee.
WHEREAS, the passing of Nashville Defense Attorney, V. Michael Fox known to many as 'DUI Mike', on November 24, 2005, at the age of 57, has brought a great loss to family, friends and the legal community of Nashville, Tennessee; and
WHEREAS, for 18 years, V. Michael Fox served the citizens of Nashville, Tennessee as one of Nashville's most prominent defense attorneys, in which he earned the respect of his peers and the judicial system for his exemplary quality of work; and
WHEREAS, a graduate Mr. Fox held degrees from both the University of Tennessee at Nashville and the Nashville School of Law; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Fox joined the U.S. Navy where he served admirably and bravely with honor and distinction during his military service, and was a Vietnam Veteran; and
WHEREAS, well-known defense attorney V. Michael Fox was a highly regarded attorney and tireless advocate for people charged with DUI offenses; his actions consistently reflected his sincere devotion to ensuring quality representation of those accused of driving under the influence; and
WHEREAS, professional, courteous, dedicated, and compassionate in his dealings with people as a prominent defense attorney, Mr. V. Michael Fox, was a true public servant and his life and work should serve as a shining beacon of the good that can be found in Davidson County; and
WHEREAS, V. Michael Fox is remembered with great affection, admiration and having a sense of humor; and
WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council express their condolences to the family of V. Michael Fox over his passing and continue to recognize his accomplishments.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the recognizing the late V. Michael Fox, Defense Attorney, of Nashville, Tennessee.
Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to the family of V. Michael Fox.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
