A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the Greater Nashville Regional Council to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County by and through the Metropolitan Social Services Commission to provide personal care, homemaker, meal delivery, and caregiver support services.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the Greater Nashville Regional Council to provide personal care, homemaker, meal delivery, and caregiver support services, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2004-490; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to extend the term until June 30, 2006, and to thereby increase the amount of the grant by $357,500, and to increase the amount of the required matching funds by $30,350, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the Greater Nashville Regional Council and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, to provide personal care, homemaker, meal delivery, and caregiver support services, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Social Services Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
