RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-962

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for air pollution control.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for air pollution control, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2004-240; and,

WHEREAS, the Grant Agreement was previously amended, as approved by Resolution RS2004-403; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to again amend that Grant Agreement to decrease the amount of the grant by $88,872, to a new total of $350,055, and to decrease the amount of the required matching funds by $45,850, to a new total of $253,765, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, for air pollution control, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Health Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
