RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-946

A resolution recognizing and honoring the members of the First Baptist Church Joelton celebrating 90 years of Ministry.

WHEREAS, in 2005 the congregation of First Baptist Church Joelton in Joelton, Tennessee will celebrate the church's 90th anniversary; and

WHEREAS, organized and founded in 1915, by George Milliken, the First Baptist Church Joelton congregation, consisted of twenty-three members; and

WHEREAS, the church has been blessed with many fine religious leaders; and

WHEREAS, today under Senior Pastor David Royalty's spiritual leadership, understanding guidance, and strong faith to many individuals has brought a tremendous source of inspiration in watching his congregation grow; and

WHEREAS, throughout its proud history, First Baptist Church Joelton has provided outstanding spiritual leadership and moral guidance to the members of its congregation; the church stands today as a tribute to the dedication and hard work of its members, past and present, who have devoted their time, energy, and resources to ensure its continued existence as a house of God; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Senior Pastor David Royalty and the congregants of First Baptist Church Joelton on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of this fine church and commend them for celebrating the church's dynamic history of the past, challenges in the present and claiming the future.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and honoring the members of the First Baptist Church Joelton celebrating 90 years of Ministry.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Senior Pastor David Royalty on behalf of the congregation of First Baptist Church Joelton.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
