RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-936
A resolution approving an agreement with the United States Marshal's Service regarding the Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force.
Whereas, the Agreement between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the United States Marshal's Service, attached hereto, specifies the parties' roles and responsibilities in the Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force ; and
Whereas, approval of the Agreement will benefit the citizens of Davidson County; and
Whereas, Tennessee Code Annotated Section 12-9-104 provides that Interlocal Agreements between political subdivisions of the State and agencies of the United States may be approved by Resolution.
Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:
Section 1. That the Agreement between The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the United States Marshal's Service regarding the Middle Tennessee Joint Fugitive Task Force, attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That any amendments to the terms of the Agreement must be approved by resolution of the Metropolitan Council receiving twenty-one affirmative votes.
Section 3. That the funds received from the United States Marshal's Service pursuant to this Agreement shall be appropriated to the Police Department.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
