RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-918

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County providing for additional funding to acquire and demolish properties located in a flood hazard area.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee Emergency Management Agency to acquire and demolish properties located in a flood hazard area, which Grant Agreement was approved by the Metropolitan Council by Ordinance BL2002-1164; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement, as provided in Amendment 1, a copy of which is attached hereto, to increase the amount of the grant by $98,201.10; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this grant be amended.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That Amendment 1 to the Grant Agreement by and between the State of Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and providing for $98,201.10 to The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County to acquire and demolish properties located in a flood hazard area, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Department of Water & Sewerage Services, based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
