A resolution authorizing the Metropolitan Government to enter into an interlocal agreement with the State of Tennessee to use 40 parking spaces near the Ben West Library on the first and third Monday and Tuesday of each month after 5:00 p.m. (Proposal No. 2005M-107U-09).

Whereas, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee have negotiated an interlocal agreement for the use of forty (40) parking spaces adjacent to the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower on Union Street with a general location across from the former Ben West Public Library to be used for parking after 5:00 p.m on Monday and Tuesday, on the first and third week of each month (Attachment A); and

Whereas, Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 12-9-104, provides that interlocal agreements between governments may be approved by resolution.

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the interlocal agreement by and between the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County and the State of Tennessee for the use of forty (40) parking spaces adjacent to the William R. Snodgrass Tennessee Tower on Union Street with a general location across from the former Ben West Public Library to be used for parking after 5:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, on the first and third week of the month, is hereby approved and the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute said interlocal agreement.

Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
