RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-844

A resolution requesting the Director of Public Property Administration to return to the North Edgefield Organized Neighbors (NEON) the property owned by NEON, which was removed from the premises of the Police Athletic League.

WHEREAS, the Police Athletic League (PAL) operated an office at 914 Meridian Street, which facility was also utilized by the North Edgefield Organized Neighbors (NEON); and

WHEREAS, PAL has dissolved as an entity and equipment used by PAL and furnished by the Metropolitan Government was removed by the Metropolitan Government to the Metropolitan Government warehouse for surplus property; and

WHEREAS, it appears that some of the property removed from the premises was property of NEON and not that of PAL or the Metropolitan Government; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that all property belonging to NEON be returned by the Metropolitan Government to NEON.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Metropolitan County Council hereby goes on record as requesting the Director of Public Property Administration to return to the North Edgefield Organized Neighbors the property owned by North Edgefield Organized Neighbors which was removed from the premises of the Police Athletic League.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of this Resolution to the Director of Public Property Administration.

Section 3. The Director of Public Property Administration is further requested to respond to the Council as to the feasibility of the request stated in Section 1 hereof within sixty (60) days from the adoption of this Resolution.

Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
