A resolution recognizing and congratulating Janet Wright as being chosen the 2005-2006 "Teacher of the Year" at Lakeview Design Center.

WHEREAS, Janet Wright, physical education instructor at Lakeview Design Center, has devoted her career to providing quality of health and physical education to our youngest and most vulnerable students; and

WHEREAS, Janet Wright has recently been selected by her colleagues as "Teacher of the Year" at Lakeview Design Center, an honor most befitting her outstanding tenure as a teacher as it recognizes the positive influence she has on so many young lives; and

WHEREAS, a native Clarksvillian who moved to Nashville in 1991; and

WHEREAS, upon graduating from Austin Peay State University, she began her educational career teaching as a substitute teacher in Montgomery County, eventually coming to Lakeview Elementary in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Janet Wright brings enthusiasm and energy to her students, has an excellent repertoire of teaching strategies, creativity, innovation, and vision that has brought invaluable assets to not only the classroom but to Lakeview Design Center; and

WHEREAS, she has received several awards and recognition during her teaching career and is actively involved in her community; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes Janet Wright as being chosen "Teacher of the Year" at Lakeview Design Center, commend her exceptional service to her students, salute her professional expertise and wish her all the best.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing and congratulating Janet Wright as being chosen the 2005-2006 "Teacher of the Year" at Lakeview Design Center.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Janet Wright.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
