RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-784

A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the State of Tennessee Department of Health to The Metropolitan Department of Health to increase bioterrorism preparedness and response capabilities.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, to increase bioterrorism preparedness and response capabilities, which Grant Agreement was approved by Resolution RS2004-260; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend that Grant Agreement to decrease the amount by $144,779, to a total of $923,621, and to revise the Scope of Services, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,

WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the State of Tennessee, Department of Health, and The Metropolitan Department of Health, to increase bioterrorism preparedness and response capabilities, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.

Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Health Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.

Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
