RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-669

A resolution approving an extension and amendment to a contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., to organize and develop a STD prevention coalition to provide awareness and educational interventions.

Whereas, the Metropolitan Board of Health wishes to amend and extend for another term the contract with STD Free, Inc., for a variety of services regarding sexually transmitted diseases, including organizing a community coalition, providing awareness and educational interventions, and advising the Health Department regarding reducing transmission of sexually transmitted diseases; and

Whereas, STD Free, Inc., wishes to amend the original contract in order to be compensated bi-annually rather than quarterly for the first term of the contract; and

Whereas, STD Free, Inc., wishes to amend the original contract term and all additional contract terms to correspond with the calendar year rather than with the fiscal year; and

Whereas, the original contract allows extension of the contract for four additional contract terms, and the parties desire to extend this contract for an additional term, such term to correspond with the calendar year of January through December; and

Whereas, the parties wish to increase the compensation of STD Free, Inc..

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Council of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County:

Section 1. That the extension and amendment of the contract by and between the Metropolitan Board of Health and STD Free, Inc., to organize and develop a STD prevention coalition to provide awareness and educational interventions, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved.

Section 2. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
