RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-661

A resolution recognizing the John F. Kennedy Middle School football team.

WHEREAS, the John F. Kennedy Middle School football team completed their regular season with an impressive record of seven wins and no losses in marching through their opponents to win the Southwestern Division, as a fitting finale to their remarkable 2004 season; and

WHEREAS, the team was led and inspired by first year Head Coach Trent Anderson and along with Assistant Coach Brent Shelton they skillfully guided the team to their winning season; and

WHEREAS, members of this talented team are David Bergsmith, Jahmarl Bertrand, Josh Breedlove, Corey Britton, Drew Bryant, Darius Carter, Ivan Cerda, Darwyn Coleman, Zack Culp, Terrance Davis, Chaz Dunlap, Terry Eicher, Daniel Grant, Isiah Harris, Ramal Hawez, Frank Heimberger, Richard Heimberger, Davion Holland, Danny House, Vincent Jones, Anthony Leonard, Monroe Maten, Michael Pedro, Antonio Person, DeAndre Person, Mitchell Poythress, Jeffrey Shaw, Wes Sherrill, Cory Smith, Sam Tipton, Jacob Vest, Aaron Walton, Albert Walden, and Jordan West; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; and

WHEREAS, these young men had the heart and determination to persevere throughout each and every challenge; and

WHEREAS, the teaching staff, parents, and fans throughout the community were steadfast in their support of the team; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the Metropolitan Council recognizes the 2004 John F. Kennedy Middle School football team and coaches on their outstanding season.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the John F. Kennedy Middle School football team.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Head Coach Trent Anderson on behalf of the team.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
