RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-660

A resolution recognizing the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, The Arts at the Airport Foundation Board and the Management and Staff of the Nashville International Airport.

WHEREAS, USA Today recently named the Nashville International Airport as one of the “10 great places to hang out during a layover”; and

WHEREAS, Nashville International Airport affords passengers and guests the opportunity to enjoy a variety of live music and entertainment on one of three stages throughout the airport; and

WHEREAS, Nashville International Airport is a destination unto itself offering an array of amenities which include: wireless Internet connections, shopping, art exhibits and craft demonstrations, delectable eateries, among other perks; and

WHEREAS, no matter how long the layover at Nashville International Airport, there is always a potpourri of entertainment to choose from, guaranteeing all ages are occupied; and

WHEREAS, it is fitting and appropriate that the Metropolitan Council recognize those involved in ensuring that the Nashville International Airport is a unique and vibrant place to wait for a flight.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. The Metropolitan Council hereby goes on record as recognizing the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, The Arts at the Airport Foundation Board and the Management and Staff of the Nashville International Airport.

Section 2. The Metropolitan Council Office is directed to prepare a copy of this Resolution to be presented to Raul Regalado, President & CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority, on behalf of the Airport Authority Board of Commissioners, The Arts at the Airport Foundation Board, and the Management and Staff of the Nashville International Airport..

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
