RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-1116
A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $8,911.24 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's property damage claim against Arthur Ralston.
Whereas, on May 7, 2005, a vehicle owned by Mr. Ralston struck a Metropolitan Police vehicle in the rear which was stopped for a red traffic light at the intersection of Lebanon Pike and Old Hickory Boulevard; and
Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the property damage claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $8,911.24.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $8,911.24 in compromise and settlement of the property damage claim against Arthur Ralston, and said funds shall be deposited into the appropriate fund and account, as determined by the Director of Finance.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
