A resolution appropriating $50,000 from the Contingency Account of the General Fund of the General Services District to a reserve account for the Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund.

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council included a $50,000 appropriation in the 2005-2006 General Fund of the General Services District designated as a Contingency Account, being object account number 01101309; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council is interested in establishing a Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund for the purpose of acquiring and preserving historic properties in Davidson County that are in disrepair; and

WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council desires to appropriate $50,000 from the Contingency Account of the General Fund of the General Services District to be set aside in a reserve account to be used to establish the Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund once said Trust Fund raises an equal match of $50,000 in private contributions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:

Section 1. There is hereby appropriated Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) from the Contingency Account of the General Fund of the General Services District to a Reserve Account for a Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund.

Section 2. Once the Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund is officially established and raises matching funds in the amount of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) in private contributions, the Council may, by resolution, reappropriate Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000) from the Reserve Account for a Metropolitan Historical Preservation Trust Fund in furtherance of the purposes of said fund.

Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
