RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-1064
A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $6,416.47 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's personal injury claim against Saul Levinson.
Whereas, on August 16, 2004, Mr. Saul Levinson struck a Metropolitan Public Works Ready Response truck in the rear, injuring the driver who had stopped in the emergency lane of Ellington Parkway to assist a stranded motorist; and
Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the claim be compromised and settled in the amount of $6,416.47, and that these funds be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $6,416.47 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government's personal injury claim against Saul Levinson, and to deposit said funds in the account designated by the Director of Finance.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
