RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-1063
A resolution authorizing the Department of Law to accept $8,134.22 in compromise and settlement of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County's property damage claim against Chester King.
Whereas, on February 2, 2005, Chester King struck a Metropolitan Police vehicle in the rear which was stopped, blue light bar activated, at or near Ed Temple Boulevard and Buchanan Street; and
Whereas, after investigation, the Metropolitan Department of Law believes that the settlement listed in Section 1 is fair and reasonable and recommends that the property damage claim against Chester King be compromised and settled in the amount of $8,134.22 and that these funds be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. The Metropolitan Department of Law is authorized to accept the amount of $8,134.22 in compromise and settlement of the property damage claim against Chester King, and said funds shall be deposited into the appropriate fund and account as determined by the Department of Finance.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
