RESOLUTION NO. RS2005-1059
A resolution approving an amendment to a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice to the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for a gang resistance education and training program.
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County previously entered into a Grant Agreement with the United States Department of Justice for a gang resistance education and training program, which Grant Agreement was approved by RS2004-496; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to RS2005-727, that Grant Agreement was extended grant until June 30, 2005,
WHEREAS, the parties wish to further amend the Grant Agreement, to extend the grant until June 30, 2006, and increase the amount of the grant by $256,000, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto; and,
WHEREAS, it is to benefit the citizens of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County that this Amendment be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT OF NASHVILLE AND DAVIDSON COUNTY:
Section 1. That the Amendment to the grant by and between the U.S. Department of Justice and the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County for a gang resistance education and training program, a copy of which Amendment is attached hereto and incorporated herein, is hereby approved, and the Metropolitan Mayor is authorized to execute the same.
Section 2. That the amount of this grant be appropriated to the Police Department based on the revenues estimated to be received and any match to be applied.
Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from and after its adoption, the welfare of The Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County requiring it.
